Go Hunters is a great, proud story of a strong, successful athletic club, born in the south-eastern outskirts of a young city, and evolving to become a major force in Australian athletics. It’s about club members like the four of our greats, Brenda, Trevor, Ron and Debbie, and of hundreds of others, who have competed under the Hunter boomerang during the last 100 years.

Just as importantly, it’s about the spirit of this newly formed club dedicated to a vision of a flourishing athletic community. From its earliest days, Glenhuntly made its mark through teamwork and mutual support, scrimping and saving, challenging authority and celebrating individual and team successes.

Phil Hutton’s meticulous recording of Glenhuntly athletes, coaches, supporters and leaders, all striving together under the blue boomerang, is a great addition to the history of athletics in Australia.
